After wasting twenty-nine years in the radio business, David finally got a real job: theater. Responding to a friend’s challenge to audition for a Readers Theatre play, his life was changed forever. Parts in plays led to directing to a twenty-five-year run as Managing Director of The Paramount Theater of Burlington, NC and Artistic Director of The Paramount Acting Company. Dave’s directing resume lists one hundred and four productions, including the world premiere of the Jone Hope Wooten comedy, Last Roundup of the Guacamole Queens. His playwriting resume lists fourteen produced plays, with two more in the works. In younger days he performed in numerous productions and cites Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, a character he has portrayed in three separate productions, as his all-time favorite. He is currently living in his hometown of Burlington, in a state of wedded bliss, with his lifetime leading lady, Susan, the source of all his best ideas.
