We absolutely loved performing Nellie! This show is beautifully written for a mainly female cast and allows each character to shine regardless of the number of lines. We were privileged to be the first school to perform this show for our state theatre festival; earning State Runner-up!

We performed this play for our One Act Play competition and for our school, and it was a great success at both. The play allows all cast members to shine.

Great drama addressing issues that are still very relevant today. You can be very creative with the blocking, and the running time (between 25 - 35 minutes) is perfect for One Act Play Festival competitions. We brought our production of "Nellie" to a Play Festival and earned a Superior rating, Best Ensemble, Best Choreography, student playing "Nellie" earned Best Lead Actor in a Drama, and student playing "Anne" Most Outstanding Festival Actor.
