"It was quite successful and challenging for the drama students. We used a simple set of platforms for the scenes, and the main characters wore kilts and sashes while the lesser ones wore brown (in order to play servants, soldiers, etc.) I added creatures to surround the witches and do their bidding. Our theme was Celtic so Hecate was dressed as The Morrigan (Irish goddess of life and death) and the three witches represented the three faces of The Morrigan. At the end, we used the ramps and aisles in the theatre as the English/Scottish forces area (the forest) and the stage area was Macbeth's castle only so we saw the army advancing on him. It made for a very interactive show." -- R.R., Bassett H.S., La Puente, CA

Macbeth
"It was a huge success! Three full-house nights with captivated audiences. As one of our area festival adjudicators stated, 'It was also clear that the audience was enjoying themselves and that they were not only following, but actually engaged with the story. This was particularly evident towards the end of the play, when Macbeth and Macduff dueled. I have never before heard an audience cheer as loudly and excitedly as I did last night when Macbeth met his end at the end of Macduff's sword." -- A.J., Whittier, CA
