This is my first year teaching drama so doing this play ended up being a great decision. There was minimal set building, one set throughout the entirety of the play, and yet the kids had so much fun with each of the characters. Every one of the candidates were characters the kids could make their own and give their own attitude for. There were also a lot of pop-up roles for kids who wanted to be in the play but we're worried about how many lines they could memorize or we're just extremely nervous. Our moderator was a senior who had fun directing the chaos. Our audience, parents and administrators, loved the message that was being delivered as well.

I am a co-director for De Smet High School and I will forever be grateful for this script. We were pondering ideas for our one-act competition and loved how funny the beginning of this script was so we went ahead and ordered enough for our entire cast! Little did we know at the time what meaning this script held. Seeing all of the characters come together to combat a never ending battle of financial burden, brought a new perspective to our own students and town. We had many, many comments from our community members and judges about how much they enjoyed this script and the characters. Highly recommend!
