Product reviews for Backstage

I have had the opportunity to be part of 4 separate productions of this script.  Each and every time we do it, the script proves to be nothing short of funny chaos for students and it has stood the test of time.  The cast size is 27, but I only had 24 actors in my class and was able to double cast a few.  Ultimately, this is a great script for high school and I highly recommend it.

The show is political in the sense that it focuses on the age old comparison of athletics vs the arts but the story, in and of itself, has a humorous way of portraying that story so that you don't feel pressured or preached to. It is full of lively characters and easy to direct since it has one set. I have now directed it twice..once in 2009 and again last week at two different schools. (15 years later)  Both audiences loved it!
