Scrooge Has Left the Building
"Mt. Vernon High School did 'Scrooge Has Left the Building' as part of a series of Christmas one-acts. I've been doing school and community theatre for some 20-years, and 'Scrooge Has Left the Building' is, in my opinion, a perfect one-act: just the right length, just the right number of characters, edgy and funny dialog, an opportunity for the kids to 'get their British on', fun for the cast and the director, and funny to the audience." -- C.S., Fortville, IN

"We decided to costume our Christmas Past in white with Bubble lights, aluminum tree branches and a color wheel. Our Christmas Present Ghost was in a snowflake fleece nightgown with a giant ribbon taped to his back. Every time he delivered the line Ghost of Christmas Present, he bent over and pointed to the bow on his back. Our Future Ghost was dressed in a black robe with a bowtie and he carried an Eight Ball. He always put his hand to his ear as he delivered the news much as an old time radio reporter would have done. The costuming got a big laugh!" --G.T., Director, Red Lodge (MT) Theatre Co.

Scrooge Has Left the Building
"A very successful production. Middle school kids filled all but one role, and they did a fantastic job! LOTS of cute lines and audience laughter. Generally, we don't have a big budget for this annual production, and our rehearsal time is limited to Sunday afternoons in the fall for our one show at Christmas. So we need to stick with uncomplicated sets and costuming, with shows that run 30-45 minutes." --P.W., Clinton, MD
