HOOP! The Basketball Musical

This fast-moving musical is about high school sports and performing arts - and students growing up. At Kingswood High life couldn’t be any more exciting – the basketball team has just qualified for the championship playoff and the winter dance is this weekend. But not everyone is happy. Parker, the high-scoring team member, may be out of the game and on probation if he doesn’t improve his grades immediately, and Michael must choose between playing in the upcoming big game or playing the piano in an important competition. Stephanie also has a choice: to attend the dance or stay home to write an English paper to help Parker pass. The plot and secondary plots weave their way through the team, cheerleading squad, dance club, faculty and administration. Humor abounds as the cheerleaders raise money for a good cause by challenging fellow students to place bets to answer tricky riddles. By the final curtain, honesty has prevailed over plagiarism, mature decisions have been made, love has emerged and everyone has grown a notch.
