Arthur and Guinevere
The magic of Merlin can't last forever, but with the help of the fairy Nimue, Merlin is soon transported back in time to remember the young boy Arthur, who was scared to become a knight; the young girl Guinevere, who was bored as a royal princess; and the young peasant girl Elyzabel, who dreamed of life in the King's castle. These three meet in the enchanted forest and their fates are suddenly changed by the evil magic of Mordrid and his twin sister Morgana. In this charming tale you soon find out what happens when you get the wish you wish for, and how it may not always bring the happiest of results. An enchanted owl and an evil raven are included on this journey of time and love. This delightful tale is full of Arthurian legend and magic, guaranteed to bring enchantment to all.

Q: WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO WRITE THIS PLAY?
A: The stories of Arthur, Guinevere, and Camelot have always been my favorite fantasy pieces. Writing this play was one of the most enjoyable plays I have written. I enjoyed falling into the magical realm and creating new exciting characters to be portrayed on stage.
Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART OR LINE IN THE PLAY? WHY?
A: Writing the parts of Mordrid and Morgana had to be the best part for me. Two evil twins with magical evil powers ... can it get any better than that?
Q: TELL US ABOUT THE CHARACTERS. ARE SOME OF THEM BASED ON PEOPLE YOU KNOW?
A: Most of the characters came from the legends, while the new characters came from amazing students and teens I work with on a daily basis.
Q: WHAT DID YOU TRY TO ACHIEVE WITH THIS PLAY?
A: I wanted to achieve an equal play of male and female strong characters. The true legends of Camelot are full of great females as well as men. I wanted a prequel that would showcase such women.
Q: DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD?
A: Don't forget to add the "magic" to your performances. It doesn't have to be a rabbit pulled from a hat or a falling chandelier but use some of the old tricks of the trade. (mood lighting, fog, falling flower petals, strobe lights, etc.) These effects mixed with children's imagination can take your production to the "Wow!" factor and pack the house!
