Theatre for a Small Planet
"Our audiences (both adults and children) absolutely LOVED our production. Some came back to see it a second time! We produced it very simply on essentially a bare stage with a huge tree as the centerpiece, a teepee, a wall that represented the cave, and other set pieces that were easily moved on and off as needed. We relied on costuming, lighting, sound (music) and the wonderful unsung heroes (the stage crew) to set the scenes. Of course, we also relied heavily on our wonderful actors to take our audiences on a trip around the planet...and they did not disappoint!" -- J.H., Director, Selinsgrove (PA) Area H.S.

Theatre for a Small Planet
"The State Theatre and Bea's Performing Arts raised enough scholarships to provide 22 young actors with 20 fun-filled days of a drama academy. Four weeks, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., we rehearsed and created our vision of Theatre for a Small Planet." The actors, ages 7-14, had a wonderful time! We added three cultural dances to each of the story lines: a traditional Native American wedding dance, Morris Dancing from England and the 10,000 hands of Buddha dance from China. What a wonderful experience!!!"  -- M.B.G., Director, Bea's Performing Arts, Clearfield, PA
