Chambers Stevens

Chambers Stevens, originally from Nashville, TN, attended Webster University in St. Louis where he studied with Tony Kushner, author of "Angels in America." As an actor, Chambers has performed in over a hundred theatrical productions including the West Coast premiere of Lee Blessings one man show "Chesapeake." As a television actor he has starred in two television series "Geo Scout" (PBS), for which he received an Emmy nomination, and "Funnybones" (PBS) which was awarded an Emmy for Best Children's Program. As a theatre director, Chambers started The Nashville Shakespeare Festival, now in its 14th season. As a playwright he has won both The Ingram Fellowship and the Tennessee Arts Commission Individual Artist Award. His play "Desperate for Magic," which has been produced around the country, received a Backstage/West GARLAND. Chambers has written books for young performers and recently Chambers directed his first film "Children of a Laughing God," which went on to premiere at the Charlie Chaplin Theatre in Los Angeles. He is also a member of the Dramatist Guild.
