"This production went flawlessly! This was the most fun our school has had in a very long time. Funny, funny, funny! We have a country store like this one just down the road and a restaurant named 'The Hitchin' Post' four miles from here. It seemed like the perfect combination for hosting the play. What a blast!" -- P.P., Director, Harpursville (NY) In-Motion Arts Guild

Hitchin' Post
"We performed 'The Hitchin' Post' for 2 nights as Popcorn Theater. People received popcorn and soda when they came in the door. We had a great candy table laid out for them to pick from. During intermission we served root beer floats. Such a fun evening!! The show was a fundraiser for our upcoming mission trip. We love Pat Cook. His plays are genius!" -- A.F., Director, Grace Christian Fellowship, Newtown, CT

Slap Stick Humor
This play is a lot of slap stick comedy and backwoods kind of fun. We did this as a high school show and really enjoyed it. We had great feedback from the audience as well. We added our own flavor with some of the actions because there isn't a lot written in for action prompts in the script. The kids really had fun with it and we enjoyed it. It's a great show for a cast size of 11.

Great family friendly light-hearted comedy.
A really funny play revolving around a day in the life of some quirky small southern town characters who all gravitate toward the town's general store much to the long suffering proprietor's annoyance. Six of the eleven characters need male actors which might be difficult for some small community theater groups. We had cast two women as male characters. The script has a few minor editing problems which should be looked at by the publisher, but we figured them out. Its two acts are not broken down into scenes. This did not lend itself well to structuring our rehearsals so we divided the acts up in scenes ourselves. The play was very well received by audiences in our small town and we a lot of fun putting it on.
