"This was the first musical I directed. Needless to say, I was very nervous about doing one. However, the lyrics and melodies of the musical numbers were easy enough for novices to learn and perform while still sounding clever and thoroughly entertaining to the audience. "Our audiences loved this musical and really got all the humor. I was surprised at the depth of appreciation from both the audience and cast because this musical does not really have as deep a message as many often have. In particular, the audience really loved watching Wally being manipulated while he was out." Kamp KAOS was very easy to stage with just one colorful set. We coordinated the colors of the campers' t-shirts with corresponding flags to give the effect of students being assigned to groups. The flags corresponded to each letter of the KAOS call sign-- K, A, O, and S. The students were responsible for bringing in most of the props--the general accoutrements of summer fun like pool noodles, rafts, tennis racquets, and sleeping bags.
